Harbor.vet By Suveto Introduces an Industry First “Graduation to Ownership” (GO) Program – Bridges Gap Between Veterinary School and Practice Ownership
CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – Harbor.vet by Suveto, a leader in advancing veterinary practice ownership, has introduced its Veterinary Business Fellowship, “Graduation to Ownership” (GO), a two-year paid fellowship that gives recent veterinary school graduates an immersive, hands-on experience that helps them set a path toward hospital ownership. The first-of-its-kind program will be featured among just 20+ other breakthrough products and services at VMX 2023, the world’s leading veterinary education conference taking place from January 14-18 in Orlando.
To help students take advantage of VMX, Suveto will pay for registration, travel, and hotel costs for students who are accepted into the program and sign their letter of acceptance by December 15, 2022.
GO is a hands-on program that helps students master clinical skills while training them to run and maintain a successful practice – a critical need that’s rarely taught in veterinary school. The GO curriculum is modeled after the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges and Certified Veterinary Practice Manager courses. The program will cover a myriad of topics including: Time Management, Well-being, Leadership, Financials, Practice Management, Communication & Conflict Resolution, Preventive Care, Dentistry, Surgery & Anesthesia, Dermatology, Behavior, Advanced Diagnostics, and Emergency Care.
After completing their GO fellowship, participants will be presented with a spectrum of ownership opportunities tailored to their specific goals and desires. From starting up their own VO Vets, an evolutionary way to own a veterinary practice through shared ownership, or securing financing through Calico, a financial company offering loans to veterinarians who are committed to independent ownership, or continue as a doctor with Veterinary Stock Ownership Plan (VSOP®), there is no shortage of opportunities for the participants.
“GO is a game changer in helping students bridge the gap between graduation and ownership. There is nothing else like it in our industry,” said Suveto Vice President of Communication Catherine Foret, DVM. “GO literally kick starts the next generation of veterinarians, whom we’ve never needed more than now.”
