Suveto and NOMV’s Mental Health and Wellness Challenge | Suveto

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – Suveto and Not One More Vet (NOMV) are rolling out their second annual Let’s Vet Together, Let’s Move Together challenge to raise money and awareness about veterinary well-being by promoting healthy habits for those in the veterinary field. Research shows that the risk of stress, anxiety, and depression is higher within the veterinary field compared to the general public. Another study found that one in six veterinarians has considered suicide.

Suveto, a company dedicated to veterinary practice ownership and well-being, partnered with NOMV, a nonprofit working to provide well-being resources to all members of the veterinary community. The two designed an engaging and motivating fundraising challenge that highlights key components that contribute to mental health and well-being.

“Our commitment to veterinarians goes far beyond our business mission of advancing and supporting veterinary ownership. Unfortunately, the profession is at severe risk when it comes to mental health and well-being, so we put extra emphasis on helping our teams achieve a healthy, balanced life,” said Suveto President Courtney Post. “We have the utmost respect for NOMV and their mission. We know that through our partnership and this Challenge, we can make a difference in veterinary health professionals’ lives together.”

Participants are encouraged to complete “challenges” in one or more of the three well-being categories: Physical, Emotional, and Social. Suggested activities are proven to promote positive mental health and include walking or hiking, biking, journaling, gardening, mentoring, volunteering, and more. For each activity participants select, Suveto will make a donation to NOMV until its goal of $10,000 is reached. All participants need to do is download the AtlasGO mobile app, use code vettogether23, and create a profile.

“At NOMV we envision a veterinary profession that honors and elevates sustainable well-being. Through our eight programs we provide peer support, resources, and outreach and awareness services to veterinary professionals around the world,” said Darlene Bos, executive director of NOMV, “We are proud to partner with Suveto to raise funds for our impactful programs and help to ensure that our message reaches those in our community who need help.”

In 2022, the first year of the challenge, 308 participants in Suveto’s Let’s Move program logged a collective 7,000 activities to benefit NOMV’s mission, raising $11,800. Suveto presented a check to NOMV at the 2022 American Veterinary Medical Association Convention in Philadelphia.
