Suveto and Not One More Vet (NOMV) Launch Third Annual Mental Health and Wellness Challenge
CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – Suveto and Not One More Vet (NOMV) are rolling out their third annual Let’s Vet Together, Let’s Move Together challenge to raise money and awareness about veterinary well-being by promoting healthy habits for veterinary professionals around the world. Research shows that the risk of stress, anxiety, and depression is higher within the veterinary field compared to the general public. Another study found that one in six veterinarians has considered suicide. With September being National Suicide Prevention Month, Suveto and NOMV aim to bring veterinary professionals together through movement and healthy habits for better well-being.
Suveto, a company dedicated to veterinary practice ownership and well-being, is once again partnering with NOMV, a nonprofit working to provide the well-being resources to all members of the veterinary community. The two designed an engaging and motivating fundraising challenge that highlights key components that contribute to mental health and well-being.
“Supporting the well-being of veterinary professionals everywhere goes hand in hand with our mission of advancing and supporting veterinary ownership. For that reason, our commitment to giving our teams the ability to achieve a healthy, balanced life is at the forefront of what we do,” said Suveto President, Courtney Post. “We have the utmost respect for NOMV and their mission. We know that through our partnership and this challenge we can make a difference in veterinary health professionals’ lives together.”
From August 30 until September 30, participants are encouraged to complete activities in one or more of the three well-being categories: Physical, Emotional, and Social. Suggested activities are proven to promote positive mental health and include walking or hiking, biking, journaling, gardening, mentoring, volunteering, and more. For each activity participants select, Suveto will make a donation to NOMV until its goal of $5,000 is reached. All participants need to do is download the TeroGO mobile app from either the Play Store or App Store, use code vettogether24, and create a profile.
“NOMV is honored to partner with Suevto on the third annual event,” said Gigi Tsontos, Executive Director of NOMV, “The commitment shown by the Suveto team and community is a testament to the work to move needle on mental health and well being of all veterinary professionals .”
Since starting this partnership, Suveto and NOMV have seen 700+ participants log activities in the Let’s Move Together Challenge, raising over $21,000 to benefits NOMV’s mission. Suveto presented a check to NOMV at the 2022 and 2023 American Veterinary Medical Association Convention.
